Top tips to make sure your scones rise every time.

  • HOT OVEN
    They need to bake in a hot oven - make sure it is has been preheated for at least 15 minutes beforehand.
  • DOUGH HEIGHT
    Roll out the dough to a decent thickness. 4cm in height before bake will produce a nice tall scone.
  • CUTTING THE SCONES
    Dip the scone cutter in flour and press and pull in one swift movement. This helps the scone keep its shape and rise.
  • EGG WASH
    Egg wash the top only to allow the sides to rise sufficiently.
