The word of the week :”Mumtrepreneur”

I haven’t wrote this blog in a while but hope to do more often. Since I got back from holidays I have been a busy bee. There has been some media interest in “Devoted To Cakes” which has been exciting. Check out my interview in “Mums and Tots” magazine out in the shops 1st September. They  did a really interesting feature called “Diary of a Mumtrepreneur” featuring Jules Oliver ( wife of Jamie Oliver) and some inspiring mums who are juggling running their own business with looking after their kids. I really enjoyed reading the other mums stories as well as seeing my interview in print!  Its great to see so many new great Irish business setting up mid recession.

This week I also met up with some other mums from “The Mumtrepreneur club” which is an online forum which gives advice, support and information to mums running or thinking of setting up their own business. We had a photo shoot for another feature on “Mumtrepreneurs” which will be coming out next week, I will give you all the details when its published. We all had our kids with us so its was a bit hectic but lots of fun. It was great to meet up as it can be challenging running your own business and not having anyone to bounce ideas off. I sometimes miss the social aspect to work life so this club is great as we can get together either online of meet up and support each other. I would encourage any mum with a business idea to use the club.

I have had lots of enquiries about wedding cakes so will be busy over the next few weeks coming up with new ideas and designs which are the not the typical traditional wedding cake so look out for the photos soon.

Thanks to everyone for reading and your continued support.
